Who is Household6 ??
Tammy (the resident Household6) currently lives on Ft Belvoir , VA with her husband, SGT Dan and their two beautiful Army brats, Kiersten and Rebecca. They also have 2 fur-kids, Ranger (Lab/PitBull) and CPT Jack (Border Collie). Tammy is Military.com’s Installation Ambassador for the Military District of Washington, founder and coordinator of Help A Service Member Out ( HASMO) and the Website/Technical Coordinator for ParentsZone.Org .
Here are a few things about me…
- I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA (well actually a suburb of New Orleans)
- I lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for a total of 8 years
- Dan and I met on the internet in 1997 (AOL Chatroom)
- My favorite sport is Hockey (go MN Wild)
- I love being an Army Wife and a WAHM
- Many of my good friends I have never met in person… gotta love the ‘net!
- My NEW favorite ice cream is World Class Chocolate from Baskin Robbins
- I really dislike any kind of bug
- My favorite saying is “suck it up and move on!!!”
- I’m hoping to go to Europe next year for vacation
- Secretly I’m a techie Geek!
- I attend Catholic school for 12 years
- I even attended an all girl Catholic High School
- I attended the University of Southern Mississippi & University of New Orleans
- My mom has 4 brothers and 1 sister
- My dad is an only child and Army Brat
- I am too old to go tent camping
- I love seafood
- I can’t stand the site of SPAM (the food and SPAM mail)
- I witnessed a murder the summer after High School
- I had to testify at the trial
- I love going to the beach
- Both of our daughters resemble me as a child
- My oldest daughter wants to be a computer animator and work for Pixar
- She received a signed picture from Brad Bird (Director of The Incredibles) and John Lasseter (Pixar CEO)
- My other daughter wants to play hockey for the University of Minnesota
- I love to shop
- I love to get dressed up and go out…my husband does not!
- I wear glasses for reading and computer work
- I love social media (seriously I do )
- I love to paint unfinished furniture
- I am goal oriented!
- In Army Lingo, I’m also known as HH6 or Household 6
- I’m developing an event for MilSpouses to connect online
- I want to have another child in the next year or so
- For our next duty station, I’d like to live in Germany or go back to TX
- I have 5 neices and 2 nephews
- I love my Mac computer..it rocks!!!
- I like to organize online events (business and non-business)
- One day I’d like to own a Humvee
- I like to play video games on my hubby’s Xbox 360
- My best freind and I have never met in person
- I love editing audio
- Someday, I’d like to go back working in Respiratory Therapy (if I can do it from home LOL )
- I’m developing a course for teaching Podcasting to primary and secondary teachers.
- My favorite perfume is Fire and Ice
- I was adopted around 6 months of age in New Orleans, LA
- So far, I’ve lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, Minnesota, Texas and Virginia
- I am going to New York City for the first time in April 2007
- I volunteer for too many projects!
- I served on the Ft Belvoir Elementary PTO Board for 2 years (wonder if I’ll be a VP candidate one day?)
- I was interviewed by Fox News for an Army Wife Segment at my house in March 2007
- I attemped Podcamp NYC in April 2007 and met some awesome people.
- I finally met my business partner and friend Wendy Cooper 0ffline after knowing her for more than a year!
- I love painting furniture
- I recently attended the GI Film Festival in Washington DC….awesome documentaries!!! (2007)
- While at the film Festival I met several actors and directors… James McEachin (Matlock, Old Glory), R Lee Emery (Full Metal Jacket, Toy Story, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and MailCall), John Dahl (The Great Raid).
- I got my photo taken with the Gunny (R Lee Emery) at the 2007 GI Film Fest
- Attended Military Spouse Appreciation Day 2008 at the White House and got to shake the Presidents Hand. Also took pictures with Gen Cody, Secretary of the Army Pete Guerin
- I’ve meet 2 Country Stars now… Garth Brooks and Phil Vassar (met Phil while at the White House)
- I was the Lead Organizer for PodcampDC 2008 which was AWESOME!
- For a brief time I served as a virtual matchmaker for my friend Tishia Lee
- I truly am in love with Dan
- I’m in complete awe of my children and what they have been able to accomplish in their lifetime thus far.
- My passion lies with the military and supporting military families.
- I’m part Geek Girl part Gamer Girl
- I love playing Halo , Rockband and Burnout on the Xbox 360
- What’s the secret for dealing with stress? Its a 2 step process: 1. Go buy big girl undies 2. Put them on
- I love playing with new themes on my Wordpress blogs.
- I have fun brainstorming to come up with creative ideas.
- Someday I’d like to own a horse and a St. Bernard dog
- I started a garden this summer (how much you want to bet it will die very soon)
- After being out of school for over 5 years, my first class back I got an A
- I’ve been a work at home mom (WAHM) since April 1998
- I love my job helping people with new media and social media plus I get to do it from the comfort of my sofa. : )
- I <3 (heart) the State Fair in MN (aka MN Get-Together) Cheese Curds ROCK!
- We are moving to Colorado in December 2008 (FINALLY)
- I love the fact that my daughters are just as techy and “geeky” as we are
- I love that Beck likes to play xbox with her Daddy
- I’m not looking forward to the deployment next year.. it will be hard but we’ll survive (refer to #68 )
- Favorite part of my job is introducing people to social media and all that it offers.
- Got to attend the 2008 AUSA Conference and meet Mrs Casey and GEN Casey
- I love what happens get accomplished when the military community and social media comes together
- Seriously considering homeschooling my kids
- We were honored by Walter Reed Medical Center during Military Family Appreciation Week as an exceptional military family.
