Ah its FINALLY Monday morning! Yes I know usually I’m dreading Mondays but after the full weekend we’ve had you would be glad it was Monday too!  : )

Halloween arrived with the usual chaotic mess.. kids ready to leave, parents weren’t.  : ) I guess I”m a “mean mommy” because I actually expected my kids to eat before they left the house. My kids didn’t agree with that philosophy so much. Any way, we had fun and the kids got way more candy than they should have!

The biggest hit of the night was the new game we bought for the Xbox 360… Disney’s Sing It! Now we’ve had both Rockband and Guitar Hero but this one was a lot of fun for the kids! Even some of the neighborhood adults got into the fun. It was funny seeing kids and adults rocking out to High School Musical, Hannah Montana & Camp Rock songs! : ) (video coming soon… pics can be seen here )

On Saturday night , we finally had Beck’s birthday party.. it was re-scheduled due to illness. It was a slumber party no less.  We ended up having about 5 kids here. (which was fine with SGT Daddy) We did crafts, played more Disney’s Sing It! (of course) and did makeovers.

Yes I was brave and let a bunch of 7 year olds do my makeover. (what I don’t do for my kids) It wasn’t too bad and I actually came out alive and unharmed ; ) The girls had a great time and finally “passed out” around midnight.

Apparently there was too much “partying” going on, because Beck was sick the next morning. So we just hung out at home pretty much all day and did nothing. Well , we did play Sing It! for a bit . I think I’m on my way to being addicted to that game… I LOVE IT! : )

Most of the weekend was a fun time except for Saturday afternoon when I found out some sad news about some of my extended family members (mother’s side) concerning alcohol and drugs. Prayers for them would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t believe we have 3 weeks to go and then we are Colorado-bound.. I’m excited yet nervous at the same time. Do any of you ever feel that way? I want to know how all of you deal with that.Leave a comment below and share your “tips”

Happy Halloween to all! Can you believe it’s Halloween already? Wow time is just flying by! We will be packing up our stuff in just 3 short weeks! Dan starts out-processing on Monday. WOOHOO!

Speaking of Veterans, did you know that November is Warrior Care Month? So, I’ll have a series of posts in November about our veterans, celebrating Veterans Day and taking care of our veterans and wounded warriors. I might even had a video interview or two with some special guests!  : )

WHEW! All that before we pack up and leave! Of course, during our “adventure” across the midwestern plains to Colorado, I’ll be blogging and Twittering our adventures (and probably misadventures as well)  : )

Beck started her new job.. giving Daddy a haircut! (don’t worry I fixed it) LOL

Well we took the car over to the car repair place and they were to do the estimate on the cost to fix everything. They weren’t sure because they think the frame is bent due to the front end damage.  So, we are back to having one car… ah so much fun! 

We thought we would have heard from the car repair place by now but I guess its like anything… hurry up and wait. Hopefully we’ll know on Monday!

Well The Clan (Dan, KK, Beck and I) ventured over to Pullen Field here at Belvoir to take part in the Freedom Fest and watch the fireworks. We met up with fellow milblogger LAW and her hubby Chief. We had a great time (except for the really bad bands they had playing and the music was deafening ). I have to say the fireworks were just absolutely awesome!

Just a quick post in the midst of our family togetherness weekend… I just checked my grades for my Respiratory Therapy (RT) class and I got an A!! Woohoo!

SO now off to have some time with The Clan (my family) and celebrate my “A” !

Ok I mentioned yesterday about my husband’s sunburn. The top of his head is far worse but his back looks pretty bad too. I was finally able to get a picture to share…

Many people have different events/memories that kick off the beginning of summer for them. Sometimes it the first day of summer vacation, others its the first family trip to the beach. However in our house, its the first sunburn of the season

Just kidding.. its the first weekend hanging out at the pool here on post.

The pool here on post officially opened and off we headed for a weekend of fun hanging out at the pool. We always look forward to hanging out at the pool. The kids always have a blast playing with their friends… Dan and I have fun chatting and catching up with our friends.

Well after 30 minutes of being at the pool.. the weather turned bad really quick. According to my ipod touch, the weather showed sunny all day. Oh joy, drag unhappy kids out of the pool in the rain.

So today we checked the weather again (double checked too) and off we went to the pool to try again. This time was much more successful. We had a great day of playing, swimming and catching up. Apparently I was lacking in school information, because i got caught up so much I found out that school for the kids ends 4 days earlier than I thought it did~ Oops!! (I’m just glad that we found out now rather than later LOL )

It also rang in another milestone of summer… the eventual sunburn for my hubby. Yes SGT Dan is a nice shade of red. I’m a little sunburned too but its a brownish red so not too bad. (I’ll be tan in a day or so) The kids of course just got tan. As soon as I can get a picture of “fire engine red boy” , I’ll post it.
