Goodbye 2009

By Tammy

Thanks for coming back to visit! If you would like to be a guest blogger at ArmyHousehold6.com - please let Tammy know!

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to welcome in a New Year.

Usually I’m dreading the fact that another year has flown by… asking where did the time go?

As I said in the beginning of the year, that 2009 would be a year of change and self-discovery . I certainly wasn’t that far off.

So much has happened this year… so far we have –

  • moved to a new state and got to know another Army community
  • got familiar with independence and self-reliance once again
  • dealt with deployment issues for myself, SGT Daddy and the girls
  • stood up for myself as a blogger and citizen journalist
  • advocated for our oldest daughter when the school wasn’t meeting her needs and began homeschooling her
  • saw our marriage grow stronger right before our very eyes
  • met some of our personal and professional goals

Now of course this doesn’t portray everything we went through this year… that would be the longest blog post EVER.

2009 was a year of change but it reminded us all of some of the things that we take for granted in our every day life.  I know 2010 will be another year full of change and new adventures but it will be good, positive change .

It also means that we will be complete once more.. for this summer — SGT Daddy will be coming home.

So what kind of changes have you seen this year? Did it make your outlook change? What resolutions or goals do you have for 2010?

  1. What a great post! Sounds like 2009 was full of changes for you guys. Our year was full of adventure. No other way to describe it. My husband was deployed until Nov 1st so I was pretty much in deployment mode the whole year. I decided that I had to make it fun! We went on a lot of trips and even tried out Space-A…which in the end was very crazy! But it really made the deployment fly by. 2010 is going to be a much calmer year. We might have another baby, we might start a new deployment. Not really sure. It should be exciting though!

Awesome post Tammy. So happy that it’s getting closer and closer to Dan coming back home. I know I’m looking forward to 2010 for different reasons than you guys are but I plan on making 2010 the best year EVER :-)
