Fighting on the Airwaves

December 29, 2006 By: Household6 Category: This and That 1 Comment →

Thanks to Andi at Andi’s World, I really got to thinking about this “fight” between Rosie and the Donald. While we have seen this kind of behavior before from several celebrities (actually from Rosie once on more than one occasion) I have to say that it has now gone too far.

I’ll be honest I never really liked Rosie. I always thought she was a little rude and crude for my tastes and I have yet to see her on her new gig, The Liberal View. She has had her share of the “spotlight” for contreversary in Hollywood. Remember a few weeks ago with Kelly Ripa?

Initially I was in agreement with Trump on the type of person Rosie but after hearing his phone call with Larry King and all the other media clips that we saw on the news.. I felt it was a bit overboard. I mean come on… either just sue her or both of them just need to shut up.
All of this got me wondering.. is all civility gone these days? Is it all just about “looking out for #1″? I see it all the time.. at Target, at the PX, and especially on the highways here in the DC metro.
I truly believe that if we all would spend a little more time to be civil toward others instead of just what is in it for us we all would be better off.

Christmas WrapUp : )

December 26, 2006 By: Household6 Category: Tammy No Comments →

Well another Christmas has come and gone.. and it was a pretty good one. As I stated before, we weren’t going anywhere and had no family coming to visit, so it was pretty quiet in our house. It was a nice day though..just the 4 of us. We didn’t have to rush anywhere or feel out of sorts in someone’s else home. We did have a freind of ours come over for dinner which was nice.

The girls had a blast with all their presents from Santa and everyone else. Special thanks go out to our family in Minnesota (Grandma Karen, Auntie Lisa, Uncle Guy, Uncle Pat, Auntie Jacquie, Uncle Joel, Auntie Chele and Grandma Dorothy) and Louisana (PawPaw Joe, NaNan and Maw Maw). We spent the majority of the afternoon calling all across the United States…thank goodness for Vonage and unlimited long distance.

Even though we enjoyed the quiet pace for once, we decided that next year we would be going to visit family. So next year, we are going to head back home to Minnesota. We both are dying for a White Christmas. SInce Living in Texas last year and Virginia this year, we have missed our White Christmas!

I hope that everyone in the blogsphere had a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year!

Saints Alive!

December 10, 2006 By: Household6 Category: Tammy, This and That No Comments →

Most people that know me know that I LOVE Hockey but these days I’m consumed with football. My hometown team the New Orleans Saints are doing AWESOME!!! Right now, I’m watching them beat the Cowboys! It’s only the 3rd Quarter and its already 42 - 17 !! WOOOHOOO!! Go Saints go!!

The people of New Orleans have had such a hard time over the last year with Katrina and re-builiding the city again! I’m so happy to see our boys do so well and give my city something to smile about not to mention celebrate!
Don’t worry.. I’m still watching my “other” boys (NHL) in Minnesota ! They are doing well too! Go WIld!!! Once football is over then I’ll switch back to Hockey!
